You will be pre-judging the video and its contents for:
Pre-judging is a time-saving measure so judges may preview certain elements that are difficult to accomplish the day of the event. To provide judges with an overview of the innovative practice highlighted in the Inside Our Schools competition, we have posted the videos in advance of the competition. This practice saves time during the event and allows judges to concentrate on the presentation and the competitors during the conference.

Return to the scoring rubric. How would you score the exemplar… and why?
To help you calibrate, please open the sample rubric that has been included. A compilation of judges’ scores and comments have been transcribed. It is important to keep in mind that you may differ in points awarded; however, you must be consistent among all competitors. The Guidelines will help in assigning scores.

Competitors will receive their rubrics so that they may reflect on their performance and improve. Some of these students will be competing at Nationals where they will be up against more than 20 students from across the United States. It is vital that your scores are representative of the quality of work submitted. Please be sure to give feedback; however, frame in a constructive manner.
The day of the event, you will receive your rubrics. If any scores differ significantly among the judges, they will need to be discussed.
