Exploring Careers in Education
Please become familiar with the Guidelines and Rubric found in the DropBox judges' folder. There are three different careers in which students may delve:
Pre-judging for these events will be for reviewing the transcribed interview the candidate had with his/her mentor as well as the contents of the slide deck. Please note that students are not permitted to make changes to the slide deck between submission and competition.
The first step is to review the transcribed interview questions.

Return to the scoring rubric. How would you score the exemplar… and why?
To help you calibrate, please open the sample rubric that has been included. A compilation of judges’ scores and comments have been transcribed. It is important to keep in mind that you may differ in points awarded; however, you must be consistent among all competitors. The Guidelines will help in assigning scores.

Competitors will receive their rubrics so that they may reflect on their performance and improve. Some of these students will be competing at Nationals where they will be up against more than 20 students from across the United States. It is vital that your scores are representative of the quality of work submitted. Please be sure to give feedback; however, frame in a constructive manner.
The day of the event, you will receive your rubrics. If any scores differ significantly among the judges, they will need to be discussed.
